Insanely good episode my god...The animation quality increase for action scenes was already expected, BUT THEY REALLY BROUGHT NON STOP ACTION WITH AWESOME ANIMATION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE EPISODE!

The staff really went berserk for this one, they really recreated so many scenes exactly how they went down in the Visual Novel. The TSF animations were insanely good! Valkyries out there proving how much they differ from regular pilots (plus, with the XM3 they're pratically untouchable).

So good to see the Wadatsumi in the anime, and the attention to detail with the orbital divers landing! They cut the episode in a extremely important and most awaited scene, understandable...BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO DO IT JUSTICE IN THE NEXT ONE!

I'm overjoyed, literally the moment everyone was waiting for and they nailed it! 100/10 will rewatch it later, and then watch it again.

Hyped for the next few episodes!

Lil disappointed the didnt explain the plan of the attack well and what the goal was… that part was too rushed last episode… it kinda would have created more hype and more fear what they are actually facing... and the new beta types… literally laser fortresses are here…
But the animation is really good…
If only they had a intense soundtrack to it….would create a whole new dynamic

I agree that they could've tone down on the training sequences, and could've spent more time on the whole explanation involving Operation 21 in the last episode. We didn't see laser fortresses in the VN, only laser class and heavy laser class BETA, Laser fortresses only started to appear during operation Cherry Blossoms, we didn't get to see them in alternative, but since they are on Total Eclipse (VN) during that same operation we might see a short scene with them if they make a third season.
For the soundtrack i'm happy with the tracks Evan Call made, can agree that we could have gotten something a bit more intense maybe, the VN had a track named "Resistance to the Bitter End" which would've fit perfectly there.

GETTEM SHIROGANE! Amazing episode and I am super stoked to see him go ham

I'll have to be honest, the anime adaptation of Muv Luv Alternative never disappoints in the action sequences, and today's episode is a testament of that... if only the anime wasn't rushed to hell then this would have been the greatest adaptation ever, but I can see they were saving the best of the best for this arc.

So yeah, this is pretty much the greatest battle in Alternative and a decisive one no less, lots of epic and sad moments are about to happen and can't wait to see them finally animated.

Oh thank God finally some action was getting sleepy with all these filler talk episodes

I always wondered. It seems like 90% of BETA are pretty much fighters at melee range and only Fortress class having some kind of range and Laser class having long range. So why not develop a machine which can hover in decend high and can only be targeted by Laser class? Maybe with some shields and long range cannon to take out those Laser class enemies. I meant until Laser class is confirmed you are pretty much invincible if other BETA can't reach you in the air and can fire all you want into them.
I mean as long as Laser class is not confirmed just take bunch of Helicopters and BETA can't do shit to you. Also price and resourcess for 1 Mech and 1 Helicopter is much different.

And after playing EDF, I sure as hell know you don't want to get swarmed in those tunels :D

But it's going way too well for Muv Luv, im expecting some serious messed up stuff next episode.
Still, this is exactly why i love the Beta battles, you never know what happens next which puts you on the edge of your seat!

NGL, to be cliché, that really didn't seem like 22 minutes went by.

Even if you watched this three times, seems like you still missed something.

But since orbital launches is a thing, should have used some Tungsten rods to crack the crust those hives sit upon.

But, you can tell the budget was in favour for this episode.
